About the Materials Exchange

What is the Materials Exchange?
The egeneration Kent & Medway Materials Exchange is an ideal tool for advertising businesses excess resources or resource requirements. Businesses can either place materials that they no longer need or can search for materials that they require. It is very easy and simple to use and can potentially save businesses money by avoiding increasing waste disposal costs.

What do I need to do to use the Materials Exchange?

Users can start searching the site and gaining contact details straight away.
Users only register with the site to post entries.
The registration process is very quick and users only need to register once to add entries to the Materials Exchange and Recycling Directory.
Users already registered to the egeneration site do not need to register again to post an entry onto the Materials Exchange and Recycling Directory as user names and passwords are still valid.

How long do entries last?
All entries on the Materials Exchange have a life of 6 months.
An email will be sent every month asking if your entry has been exchanged.
Entries can be renewed for a further 6 months using the edit/delete function.
What regions are covered by the Materials Exchange?
The Kent & Medway Materials Exchange is part of a wider network of sites covering the south east of England. These sites are collectively known as the egeneration partnership. The egeneration partnership covers Kent & Medway, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Berkshire and Bucks, Oxfordshire, Northants and Milton Keynes and promotes sustainability to businesses.

The Materials Exchange will be replicated to cover other areas of the South East. Any searches carried out on this site will also include entries from other areas.

Who Manages the Materials Exchange?
The Kent Exchange is managed by ReMaDe Kent & Medway. ReMaDe Kent & Medway is a not-for-profit public/private partnership charged with creating markets for recycled materials within Kent & Medway.

Who funds the Materials Exchange?
The development of The Kent & Medway Materials Exchange has been funded through INTERREG IIIa Sustainable Enterprise Programme. This is a European funding stream that aims to encourage partners on either side of the Channel to work together on areas of joint interest. The Interreg programme was established between partners from Nord pas de Calais, Kent and East Sussex and is working with businesses to increase the reprocessing capacity within these areas.
